Magical Motherly Moment — I found a strange track, looked like a flower, in the middle of the winter. I followed the prints in the sand and found a very large den with multiple entrances. I decided to sit one evening, early spring, when the wind direction allowed me to approach the den. I almost gave up, then SHE appeared at the top of the mound in all her glory. After a quick perimeter check she decided it was safe and two plump kits came out from one of the many entrances to feast. She strategically positioned herself where she could be keenly aware of her surroundings and nurse her maturing offspring. From downwind, I took some amateur pictures and felt like an intruder during their intimate family time. I wanted to be an unnoticed observer, she saw me, I stopped taking pictures and. Post meal she cleaned them up, good & proper then they played while Mom kept close watch for any and all danger. This was one of my most exciting moments in nature. When I look at this image, I am transported to this very instant in time. It was magical, I hope for more intimate moments with nature. Such a thrill to observe raw unfiltered beauty.

My Background

When I look around, I see a lot of frames, beauty abounds. I've always loved raw nature, untouched and undeveloped. While observing all this beauty, it is virtually guaranteed a plastic bag, an empty container, bottle caps or the dreaded balloon shows up like an unwanted visitor. Let's be conscious of our individual usage and become responsible for our waste and where it goes. We can make the world a better place. This is my hope, passion and purpose with "Awakended Photography". Join the movement, be part of the solution not the problem. Use~less. Be responsible with what you consume.

Mission to enlighten people that make waste

There are many different types of conservation that hopefully we are practicing on some level. At the very least we should be conscious of what we use and dispose of it properly. Perhaps go the extra step and pick up a "left behind" item? My photography mission will hopefully bring a heighten awareness to stop the consumption madness and inspire better ways.
